California Cutie Becomes Minnesota Munchkin!!

The next Tay sachs Cutie I'd like to introduce is:

Krystie Anna Karl-Steiger

Krystie is a beautiful little girl who underwent a potentially experimental treatment involving a stem cell transplant. She was admitted to the University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis on May 10th, 2007.

Krystie has 2 daddies: Bruce and his partner Rick. They had always wanted to have a child. Although, the process had been fairly challenging for them, they never gave up. After 3 years and 8 surrogacy attempts, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Krystie Anna, born on 1/26/06.

Here they celebrate her 2nd Birthday on JANUARY 26, 2008!
Her daddy, Rick also celebrated his birthday!

Here is a pic of there new Minnesota tag!

Krystie & her daddies are originally from Rancho Mirage, California. Right now, Krystie is being treated in Minnesota. She has undergone a stem cell transplant at the University of Minnesota.

You can send them well wishes:

Her is a picture of her this month.
She is a little pudgy from all the steroids,
but, as you can see, she is still as cute as ever.

Hi Marie,

We just wanted to thank you for sharing Krystie's story on your blog for Tay-Sachs Tuesday. We tried to leave a comment but weren't able to for some reason.

Thanks again and we'll keep checking your blog!
