Here is an e-mail I received from the Mannings:

Well, I am writing to you all with overflowing tears of joy!
As you may have heard already, we welcomed Devin Robert Manning into our family on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. He arrived at 9:37 pm a mere 5 pounds 7.4 ounces and 18.5 inches long. He is just perfect with spiked brown hair like his big brother D and the sweetest wrinkly forehead just right for kisses!

After weeks of bedrest and a pregnancy full of ups and downs, the doctors admitted me due to the snow storm last week and our distance from the hospital. As soon as the snow cleared, I thought for sure we would be coming home without a baby waiting for the next false alarm. Instead, God had other plans and we are happy to have him in our lives! He is just cute as a button and already a week old today! Where does the time go? Nanny came to the hospital on her snow day to give me a ride home while daddy was at work, but instead she arrived in time to jog the halls of the maternity ward with me:) She was there to capture all of the memories and it didn't take long once daddy arrived!

When people asked Brady what his baby's name was going to be, he said, "God and Dylan have to name my baby". What a large task it is to find a name given by God and D. We narrowed down a list of boys names and on Christmas morning, we decided on Devin, which means DIVINE (God) and rhymes with HEAVEN which is where his big brother will be watching over him from above. We thought it was perfect! His middle name is for Brian's father Robert who passed away suddenly at the age of 50 and never had the opportunity to meet his grandchildren. He would be very proud!

Brady is an extremely excited big brother! He calls Devin "My Baby"! On his way to the hospital to visit him for the first time, he told Nana and Pop-um that he has waited a LONG time for his baby to kick out of mommy! When Nanny called him, he said, "Nanny, I have my baby now!" Brady was always so upset when everyone had a baby brother except for him. Benjamin had his little Matthew and Kenny had his little Andrew and he needed a baby too. Devin is so tiny that his preemie diapers are floating on him, soon enough we will wonder if he was really THAT small! Brady was even tinier at 4 pounds 15 oz. Nanny told Brady that she had a special prize for him for being such a nice big brother and he said, "Well, Nanny I already have my prize, it's my brother!" He gives us so many priceless moments it is tough to capture them all.

Thank you all for your many phone calls and congratulatory emails! It is tough to respond to them when all we want to do is cuddle with our little angel. We have been getting visitors and it is quite alright if you'd like to stop in to meet him. We've always welcomed people into our lives with open arms as we share our most precious gifts with those who care! Oh, and guess who has been sending us Pennies from Heaven at the most perfect times? We are blessed to have an angel to watch over us.

A very SPECIAL thank you to the Cure Tay-Sachs Foundation who made an extremely generous donation to Tay-Sachs Research the day Devin was born! We are also elated that CTSF were able to contribute to little Camilla in Colombia to assist with her medical needs and urgent care, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your sincere kindness!!!

So as we end this long overdue note and announcement of joy, we JUST BELIEVE in miracles as we gaze into Devin and Brady's innocent eyes! Also, check out the shutterfly website we've set up to introduce Devin
